A 49-year-old woman named Fulela from Abuakwa in the Ashanti region of Ghana revealed in an interview how her ex-husband used juju on her after she left his house years back. The woman said she was living happily with her parents and siblings in their hometown. One day, an elderly rich man in his sixties who also had two wives came to asked her hand in marriage.

She refused to accept this marriage but her father threatened to expel her from the house if she did not marry the rich man. Her father continued to force her to agree to marriage when she was only 16 years old. After the marriage ceremony, she went to stay in the same house with her husband and the other co-wives. But these women do not allow her to enjoy any happiness in the marriage.

But the husband still comforts her and advises her to be patience with his two wives. Fulela said that after she became pregnant and gave birth to her first child, she went to stayed with her mother for a while, and instead of her husband waiting for her to return, he married another girl who is also 16 years old. After a few days she got sick, became weak and could not do anything on her own, her mother rushed to the hospital for treatment but she did not recover, she was still in pain and cried all day. Fulali claims that her mother consulted a fetish priest who revealed to her that her husband used juju against her because she decided not to return to him. Although they perform certain rituals to ward off juju yet he didn’t recover.

She was sent to different churches for prayers before she recovered and started working, but after getting married again, she began to feel generall body pains and could not sleep for several nights. Fulali said she tried in every way to find a cure, but all her efforts were in vain, and her husband who traveled abroad few months ago too fell ill with the same symptoms.
