Former Communications Member of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Jerome Otchere, believes the exit of arch rival club, Hearts of Oak, from CAF club competition comes as a blow to growth domestic competition.
Jerome Otchere, who once was the editor of the “Kotoko Express, hence, cited structural set-up within the club hierarchy as factors undermining club’s woes.
“Some years ago, some of these clubs could not stand any of our clubs.
22years down the line, Hearts cannot even contend with clubs in the Sub Region”.
“It is down to how we have done things. It is about how club football are run in this country”.
“I do not think we are doing the right thing.
Even if we agree that there is not money in the system, I think we are getting the basics wrong”.
Hearts of Oak suffered 3:1 aggregate score line from AS Real Bamako line to exit preliminary stage of CAF Confederation Cup.
