Some Churches And Businesses Are Charging In Dollars In The Midst Of Depreciating Cedis

A journalist and a former Manager at Airtel Ghana, Raymond Ablorh, has asserted that, some Churches and businesses are charging in dollars amidst the depreciating cedis.

In a post shared on his official Facebook page on Sunday, 16th October 2022, he wrote that,

Ghana is running import driven retail economy. Many Public and Private businesses are quoting service charges in USD and even some churches sometimes quote seeds and special offering in USD as if they’re in America, and some convert their Cedis to USD to transfer outside the jurisdiction.

“In the face of growing demand for foreign goods and services, you could shout till your throat burst in prayer to arrest the Cedi when our Economic Management Team fails. Heavens will only be amazed at the level of your displaced faith.” He wrote.

As Dr Moses Barima Djimatey observed, “there is what God does and there is what humans do and to know the difference is Christian maturity.” When shall we inaugurate our Spiritual Economic Management Team? Raymond added.
