The Eastern regional representative of the just ended Ghana Most Beautiful beauty pegeant show, Miss Odei Amoani has been appointed by the minister of education, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum as the ambassador for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
Amoani, as her stage name emerged the third runner up after the program due to her sterling performance. Amoani championed the course to encourage young girls to pursue science, technology, engineering and mathematics related professions during her Ghana Most Beautiful days.
Women and girls around the world are under-represented in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM)-related professions. For female students in rural Ghana, the pursuit of a STEM career is largely out of mind and reach because teachers lack STEM knowledge and resources.
Due to this reason, the education minister has appointed Odei Amoani to represent and educate young girls across the country on the importance of STEM.
