After two parents conspired to attack a female teacher at the school, Ejisu-Besease M/A Junior High School in the Ejisu Municipality of the Ashanti Region was shut down by education officials.
Ms. Serwaa Ampofo angered the two women when she chopped through a from two students’ hair because she had excessive hair.
Following the incident, the two women, later identified as hairdresser Alimatu Sadia and teacher Kate Serwaa, both 30 years old, rushed the school to assault the female instructor.
The two pulled on the teacher’s hair as they dragged her to the ground while brandishing scissors.
However, other pupils at the school reportedly corroborated that the alleged student was the one who started the attack on their teacher after their instructor drew a line in her hair and used a razor stick to shave some of her hair.
Since the incident, Ms. Ampofo has been a patient at the Ejisu Government Hospital.
“Last Friday, my director and I visited the hospital, where we saw the victim’s outfit. It was really filthy. It was clear that they actually dragged her.
We are not taking this lightly at all,” Ejisu Municipal Education Directorate Public Relations Officer Michael Gyarteng said. “The director sent those instructors there to educate and not be beaten up, crippled, or murdered.”
