TikTok, known in China as Douyin is a video-sharing platform owned by Chinese company ByteDance. It hosts a variety of short-form user videos, from genres like pranks, stunts, tricks, jokes, dance, and entertainment with durations from 15 seconds to ten minutes.
TikTok started as a platform where both the old and the young ones do spend their leisure time on, to entertain themselves and their followers.
However, the platform which has fast become the most time spent on platform has been metamorphosed into a money-making venture for both ages. People now decide to pursue their career goals through the platform.
There are a few Northern Ghana young ones who have leveraged the efficacy of the platform to their advantage, showcasing their talents, and projecting their regions which gear towards making positive impacts on the society. They also make huge sums of money from the platform.
It’s on the aforementioned premises that Movement Records has liaised with FTM to organize an awards scheme with the paramount importance of acknowledging and awarding different TikTokers across the five Northern regions and encouraging them for their effort of providing entertainment and impacting lives through their videos on the TikTok social app.
The awards scheme called “Northern Ghana TikTokers Awards” will also open artists and businessmen/women’s eyes to realize the relevance of the short-video-sharing platform and the pivotal roles played by the leading creative TikTokers in promoting their songs and businesses
The 1st runner-up of this maiden edition shall go home with a brand new motorbike, 2nd runner-up shall go home with a television set attached with a rice cooking set. The overall winner will bag the bragging rights, also taking home is a brand new Kia Picanto
There will also be honorary awards to some nominees as well.
Meanwhile, a media press where every bit of information concerning the scheme will be announced, is slated for next week in the Northern regional Capital, Tamale
