About 5.3million Jobs Created Since 2017 – Ignatius Baffour Awuah

Employment has been one of the most crucial areas every government focuses on when they come into office.

Inasmuch a lot has been said about the effort made by the government to increase the intake of graduates after school, more needed to be done.

As it stands, the current government says it has increased employment opportunities to the youth by a margin of 5.3 in all.

According to the minister of employment and relations, Ignatius Baffour Awuah, data assembled by his outfit with inputs from other ministries, departments and agencies indicates that the government has created significant direct and indirect jobs for the good people of Ghana.

He further stated that, “An analysis of data assembled by the ministry from the inputs of various ministries, departments and agencies, as well as the government’s flagship programmes indicates that an estimated 5,306,899 jobs were created by the government between 2017 and 2021”.

The minister continued that, “These are jobs that guarantee adequate income security, social security, provide adequate social protection, protect and promote the rights of workers, encourage unionisation and promote social dialogue”, Mr. Bawuah said.
