Donations are gifts extended to public institutions or non-government organisations. According to Winston Churchill, we make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.

Interestingly, many institutions that are not supposed to accept donations from various sources due to the strings attached, tend to become exposed to such temptations for many reasons.
Are we providing our security agencies with adequate financial resources? Do our laws or Acts of parliament establish that state institutions and agencies should accept donations?
Well, can an office such as the Ministry of Attorney General or Justice accept computers from foreign countries or institutions?
Professor Baffour Agyeman-Duah, a former UN Governance Expert has raised concerns about the ongoing issue concerning Aisha Huang.
In the professor’s submission, he explained that African countries such as the Democratic Republic of Congo are blessed with strategic minerals required for manufacturing machines. He revealed that the Chinese have an interest in such resources and are attracted to them.
The Professor further explained that, even though Ghana does not have such strategic minerals, we have gold and that natural resource is of importance to the Chinese.
The Professor disclosed that to make our security agencies objective when the Chinese go against our laws, the security agencies should not accept their donations.
Of course, the donations can in one way or the other develop better relations but can it affect the judgement of these security agencies?
What about the loans that the country borrows from these foreign countries; do they impair our judgement of our leaders?
