Joy Enomfon Sunday, a 40-year-old woman, was reportedly responsible for her husband’s abduction, Emmanuel Usenekong, and was paraded by the Akwa Ibom State Police Command on Friday.
The Suspect, who claims to have been married for over twenty years, told reporters at the command’s headquarters that she had to organize the kidnapping of her husband since he refused to take care of the family financially and have sex with her.
It is reported that the kidnappers initially demanded N10 million as a ransom and later reduced it to N2 million which was paid before the police arrested them at the point of sharing.
The accused additionally stated that her spouse left her and their children for another lady.

She stated, “I arranged for my husband’s abduction because, for a long time, he had abandoned me with his children. He never cared for his children. I engaged in menial jobs such as weeding on people’s farms to feed my children and pay their school fees.
One of the children finished secondary school and I approached my husband to plan how to send the son to learn trade since the father refused to send him to university but my husband shunned me.

The major reason I arranged for his kidnapping is that my husband refused to have sex with me and does not take care of me and the children.”
The suspect claimed that the kidnappers had not yet handed her any of the N2 million in ransom money and that it was only at the moment of distribution that the accused accomplice revealed her identity as the plot’s mastermind.
Mr Emmanuel Usenekong’s spouse told reporters that his son was abducted from their home in the early evening of July 21, 2022, as he returned from the hospital.
Usenekong, a businessman in the construction supplies industry, claimed he had no idea his ex-wife, who had blamed her husband’s infidelity on his “uncertain” behavior, could do such a thing to him.
