Johnnie Hughes has lashed out at security chiefs and heads of department who have attained the retirement age of sixty and are still at post or given contract extensions.
The journalist seems to have his heart in the right place about accountability and probity.
Speaking this morning on his editorial ‘JOHNNIE HUGHES BITE,’ after offering prayers to his God, the gentleman asserted that he initiated a campaign dubbed “let the retirees go, and let the young grow” a week ago and faced stiffed opposition from certain people. Is what is happening today not showing he has been vindicated?
He cited the new crusading guide March publication earlier this year and Abdul Malik Kweku Baako, the senior journalist newspaper wrote about service chiefs:Fire Service, Immigration, Customs who have overstayed in office after reaching the mandated retirement age.
The TV3 program host revealed some media entities accused him of having taken the money and being biased. He however labeled them as having lost touch with reality. His online campaign on Twitter has yielded results with the sacking of the customs boss Colonel Damoah.
In conclusion, he pledged to continue on this tangent until all those who are due for retirement, leave for the younger ones to take over.
