Mahama is the heart of the party at the moment. This means any effort or plans to overthrow him or go behind or ahead of him will come with some party consequences. From the camp of the party, the only reason why this is being treated as a bigger issue is because the rate at which Kwabena Duffuor is working so hard to have his party members support him is threatening to these persons and Mahama as well.
Some officials are already against the single term possibility of Mahama when he wins power for the Ndc and how this can be a hurdle to the Ndc in spending eight years in office. This is also treated as an advantage for Kwabena Duffuor who is ensuring that this opportunity does not go pass him.
