Asante Kotoko’s Champions League away game with Burkinabe RC Kadiogo to be played in Ivory Coast

Rail Club de Kadiogo of Burkina Faso will host Ghana champions Asante Kotoko in the first leg CAF Champions League qualifier in the Ivory Coast.

The Confederation of African Football, (CAF), has confirmed this decision, noting that the clash will be played at the Stade Yamoussoukro in the Ivory Coast.

The game was originally scheduled to be played at the Stade de Kadiogo in Ouagadougou, home of the Burkinabe champions on September 11.

However, Africa’s rulling body of football has rejected the venue insisting that it does not meet their requirements to stage an international fixture.

The upcoming game has therefore been moved to neighbouring Ivory Coast where RC Kadiogo will host the first leg encounter.

The return encounter will be played in Ghana a week after the tie in the Ivory Coast where the winner of the two-legged affair will progress to the next stage of Africa’s biggest club competition.
