Traders Should Shun GUTA Directives – N.C.S.P.DA To Its Members

It is in the known that, Ghana Union Of Traders Association (GUTA) has announced that all shops are to be closed on 29th August, 2022 to register their displeasure to the government in relation to the current economic mismanagement.

According to GUTA the depreciation of the cedi has eroded the capital of its members. A dollar is currently trading at 10cedis, inflation is at 32% and the policy rate is currently at 22%, monetary policy rate 22%, commercial lending rate is over 35%, VAT and standard rate of 19.25% instead of flat rate of 4%.

The National Concerned Spare Parts Dealers Association (N.C.S.P.D.A) is entreating all its members and other traders not to pay attention to GUTA but rather should step out and open their shops.

A according to the (N.C.S.P.D.A), this is not the right time for shops to be closed, rather the government needs to provide a swift solution to the collapasing economy.

‘The economy is harsh. Some of our members do not have their daily bread if they don’t go to their shops and not to mention the table top sellers’.

‘The reality is that, we can’t just close our shops to stay home and starve just because the government have failed and we suggest they consider consulting the previous administration’.

They therefore call on all meaningful Ghanaians, shop owners, traders and table top dealers to operate fully coming Monday 29th AUGUST, 2022.

“We again calling on all meaningful Ghanaians, Shop owners, Traders and Table top dealers to operate fully coming Monday”
