Ghanaians react massively when Papa Kwesi Nduom’s tweet against Mahama surfaces online

Enshrined in the 1992 Constitution of Ghana is the Freedom of Expressing and Freedom of Association. With these rights, every Ghanaian has the opportunity to choose any association, be it political, religious, or any other group to belong to. Likewise, Ghanaians have the liberty to express their opinion so long as it does not infringe on the right of someone else.

Just like any other Ghanaian, Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom had his political preference in the run-up to the 2016 General Elections. Papa Kwesi Nduom who had contested for the presidency on several occasions on the ticket of the Convention People’s Party was disqualified by the Electoral Commission from participating in the 2016 General Elections on the ticket of his party on technical ground.

Aside from political contributions to the nation, Ghanaians praise Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom for his entrepreneurship drive that has created jobs for many Ghanaians. Among his many mega-companies, is the now defunct GN Bank. The bank which has helped the economy of the country by establishing branches in many villages and towns has been closed down by the current government. Scores of Ghanaians have bemoaned how the ruling government has treated a man who once served as a minister of state in the erstwhile John Agykum Kuffour’s government.

But a tweet from Mr. Papa Kwesi Nduom before the 2016 General Elections has made Ghanaians think otherwise. People are now beginning to think he is the architect of his downfall before campaigning against John Dramani Mahama. In his tweet, Papa Kwesi Nduom charged Ghanaians to vote out John Dramani Mahama for a new president who will create more jobs for the youth.
