A deputy finance minister, John Kumah has finally revealed the government’s position on the Menzgold saga and when the affected customers were going to get their money. Menzgold is a owned by Nam 1 and was engaging in investment with higher interest. A lot of people invested their monies but the government later froze Nam 1’s properties and companies because they said he was engaging in an illegality. The case has since been in Court.
While speaking on the matter and when the victims were going to get their monies invested, John Kumah boldly revealed on Joy News that as far as the government is concerned, the matter is still in Court. He also said a word to those customers of Menzgold who chastised the government at first for freezing the properties of the owner, Nam 1.
“ As far as government is concerned we think the matter is in Court. We have heard the difficult, painful stories of customers and victims of Menzgold. However, if you can recall, when the government decided to intervene in this illegality, the posture of some of the same customers and how they even fought against the government not to interfere and allow Nam 1 to pay them. The prosecution is going on and so we should allow the law to speak.” John Kumah boldly revealed this on Joy News on Saturday.
