Amerado took a shot at lyrical Joe on a song Eno Baroni featured him after LJ won the VGMA Rap Performance of the year because he was of the view he didn’t deserve to win.
Lyrical Joe replied with a full diss track immediately.Â
Three months later, Amerado returned with a diss which was replied to by LJ in less than 24hrs. Amerado came again with Sin no More. It appeared to have ended the battle, but we were wrong, LJ didn’t hesitate to reply and that immediately dispelled the false impression that Amerado had the beef in the bag.Â
Then this morning, Amerado came with Lyrical Jeniffer, in which he threw some really heavy shots. This should have ended it, most of us thought that was it, Lyrical Joe can’t come back stronger.Â
Again, we were wrong, and this is the savage part, Lyrical Joe replied in less than an hour, taking it a notch higher.Â
I said here that this is the most evenly matched beef and perhaps I’ve heard since we got exposed to direct rap beef, thanks to Doe vs Chicago. The most intense would have been Obrafour vs Lord Kenya but despite all effort from Obrafour, Kenya decided to keep it classy. It would have been the biggest beef ever, it ended up being subliminal shots at each other with Obrafour seen as the aggressor.
The result is that it created an endless debate between the fans as to who is better.Â
This rap battle is different, whoever has the last word will be seen as the winner, but that is not just it, LJ’s ability to reply almost immediately is shifting the battle in his favour, he is proving to be battle ready.Â
Both guys have done well, Amerado can’t afford to lose this one because he was looking like the untouchable heir apparent to Sark’s crown, which is under challenge, advantage LJ.Â
This is the kind of battle you give a verdict based on who you like more of the two and the kind of rap you like. If you are like me who has no favourite amongst them and come to appreciate rap in all forms, I mean the Kenya fan who bought each of Obrafour’s first 4 albums and saved to but each of club masters 1,2,3 and 4, you’d appreciate that Lyrical Josephine is slightly ahead.Â
His choice of word, the fact that he is able to crypt it and yet sound equally insulting makes him have the edge for me.Â
Take nothing from Amerado though, he is a top mc with nearly a flawless twi.
Interestingly, we have two B+ rappers stealing the headline with nothing but their rap prowess, aluta continua.Â
Amerado has to come back against, this is like starting a fight at zongo, can you fight till infinity?Â
This is the closure I want, a smart businessman should invite both, make them an offer and organise a battle at an event centre. People will be willing to pay to see this, to know who really has got it.Â
The only downside is, Amerado might not show up
