There are so many Genres of music in the world and when it comes to Ghana, our root genre is the Hi-Life Music. The High life Genre has over the years evolved into different segments of it progression and sound. It’s mostly based on guitar strings, local instrument and the Cord progression. From it Genesis till date we have had it grow from Highlife to Burga high life, contemporary high life, Afro High life, Drill High life and it kind.
Over the years the Ghanaian high life genre has been left out and has been replaced by other foreign Genres. Amidst this we have some artiste who are doing well to maintain the High life culture and Genre, and trying to introduce it to the world.
Kojo Black has released a brand new High life song titled “NIPA” According to Kojo Black, the song is a reflection of some happenings in his life. The song talks about friends and how one should be careful of those around him/her as they are the people who will bring you down and gossip about you.
The message in his song has got many people talking and loving the song. Indeed High life music is here to stay.
