“We have a standard salary that is minimum wage that is put in place by Ghana as a country. We cannot set a minimum wage. It is what the state uses that we also run on it. Players are being taken care by teams. You give a player an enticement fee today and he will buy IPhone 13 pro and when the get finished there will be a problem.” He told Sports Obama media.
Following the sponsorship package between Ghana Football Association and betting firm betpawa, club administrators have been charged to pay players what is due them from the financial package.
There are many instances where players salaries are not paid on time, resulting in internal wrangling and revolt. Clubs in Ghana usually owns their players months of unpaid salary and remuneration. With Betpawa coming on board as sponsor, clubs have been urged to turn a new leaf.
