The death of veteran actor Prince Yawson popularly known as ‘Waakye’ has been reported by some of his colleague actors who have expressed how sorrowful they are. He is believed to have died yesterday at the 37 military hospitals where he was admitted earlier to receive medical treatment for an ailment.
Ghanaians are saddened by the news and the subsequent revelation by another veteran actress Maame Dokunu has worsened matters. She disclosed that the late gentleman before his death was put on a stretcher simply because there were no beds at the hospital until he gave up the ghost.
Fast forward, NDC bigwig Dzifa Gunu has indicated how angry he is and attributes the actor’s death to the president’s inability to finish uncompleted hospital projects. The politician is of the view that the gentleman wouldn’t have died if the second phase of the Ridge hospital was completed.
Then again the La General hospital which was demolished two years ago has not been rebuilt and all of this contributed to ‘Waakye’ death. He cited certain medical facilities which were uncompleted by the previous administration and have been left to rot in the bushes.
In conclusion, he indicated that no taxpayer must die because of no bed syndrome.
