The National Democratic Congress legislature for Ningo-Prampram, Mr Sam George has boldly declared that no matter what, the minister of communication and digitisation, Ursula Owusu will definitely extend the deadline for SIM card registration.
It will be recalled that the minister of Communications digitisation in a statement in Kumasi said, her outfit does not have plans to extend the deadline of 31st July 2022 for merging the Ghana card with the SIM cards. She stressed that all SIM cards that are not registered with the Ghana card shall be deactivated after the said date.
Mr. Sam George however, stated that he doesn’t understand why the minister will wait till Sunday evening before announcing an extension of the deadline. He emphasized that any statement that the deadline will not be extended is not true and that she will definitely extend the deadline.
Mr Sam Dzata George said “it appears as if the Minister is relishing the suffering of Ghanaians. Why wait till Sunday if you’re going to give an extension, because the minister, what she said in Kumasi that there will be no extension, it is not true. She will extend it.”
