NDC, NPP Communicators exchange slaps at Radio Station.

A discussion on the mid-year budget review for 2022, which the minister of finance delivered to parliament on Monday, turned into an altercation between members of the two major political parties on Stone City Radio.

On Tuesday, July 27, 2022, guests on the morning broadcast of the Ho-based radio station were Bright Nyartikor of the ruling New Patriotic Party’s Volta Regional Communications team and Mawuli Koku Nanegbe of the opposition National Democratic Congress’s Volta Regional Communications team.

Mawunyo Djamboe, the show’s presenter, claims that the NPP representative did not like a comment made by a caller who labeled the ruling party as “thieves” after the caller made the comment.

The caller also alleged that NPP communicators were unaware of current events in the nation.

Bright Nyartikor, who was not pleased with the caller’s comment, attempted to refute it.

However, the NPP and NDC officials’ heated argument on the television resulted from that attempt.

The two began calling each other names after the event, which culminated in the communicators slapping each other in the radio station’s studios.

Both parties were able to leave the station without suffering any injuries thanks to the station staff’s quick action in stopping the conflict from getting worse.
