Former Hearts of Oak Anthony Annan stars as TPS Turku wins to maintain top spot in Finnish Ykkonen

Former Accra Hearts of Oak and Ghana international midfielder Anthony Annan was in good shape for TPS Turku in the Finnish Ykkonen League as they won to maintain their position at the top of the stairs.

TPS Turku beat SJK Akatemia 2-1 at home in a Matchday 14 encounter as they chase promotion to the top-flight league.

This Finnish Ykkonen game, was played at the Veritas Stadion, home of TPS Turku.

Anthony Annan lasted 89 minutes on Friday evening as TPS Turku recorded their 10th victory of the campaign.

TPS Turku are top of the standing with 33 points after 15 matches heading into the next round of matches next weekend.

The former Ghana international was rated at 7.7 for his troubles in the middle of the park as he continued with his excellent displays for TPS Turku this season.

The league leaders have drawn three and lost two of the 15 matches they have played this season and, they will look to continue with this good form for the reminder of the campaign to achieve their aim.

TPS Turku will next play PEPO Lappeenranta in an away encounter to be played on Saturday at the Kimpisen Urheilupuisto.

They will be favourites to collect the three points against the 11th placed side that has a goals difference of minus 14 to boost of this season.
