Joynews has done some serious comparisons on Eurobond Market Borrowing from the year 2013 to 2021 between the former head of state John Dramani Mahama and the current one, Akuffo Addo with their respective finance ministers. The difference is so huge and it’s disturbing how a country like Ghana with all of its natural resources has to go about begging.
Ironically, when this government was in opposition Akufo Addo and bawumia and the entire NPP party criticized Mahama concerning borrowing, it marvels many to see what is happening today on the same borrowing under the NPP government.Â
At a point, the then flag bearer of the NPP and his vice before the 2016 elections were shouting that they won’t borrow because the money is here, today they have borrowed more than any other government in our history.
Sadly, all of these debts are going to be paid by generations unborn. It’s such a pity how politicians are making the task of governing a country so risky for the upcoming generation
