Okudzeto Ablakwa is a member of parliament and former deputy minister of Education. He has shared an information on his social media page explaining how twenty one top management officials directors at the Electoral Commission of Ghana lacks Police background checks.
According to Okudzeto, he doesn’t understand why the Electoral Commission lead by Jean Adukwei Mensah want the people of Ghana to have confidence in them whilst they have staffs without police background checks. He explained that it is unlawful for a person to be employed by the electoral commission without background checks. “Who are these mysterious 21 top management staff and why were they allowed to violate Article 9 (1) of the Commissions Bargaining Agreement (CBA) 2018” Okudzeto asked in his statement.
The Auditors report also showed that these 21 people in question did not declare their assets or liabilities on their files.
