One of the unforgettable memories of the The Late John Evans Atta Mills as President was the moment when he stormed the Tema Harbour unannounced just to see for himself and confirm the rumors he heard about corruption and bribery scandals that took place over there then. Atta Mills set that precedence and today, Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, followed suite, but not with the capacity and intention Atta Mills had.
Today, Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin intentionally stormed the offices of the Ghana School Feeding Programme and the National Buffer Stock Company. And he did that in an unannounced manner.
According to news report, he made that visit only to “find out challenges facing both companies following recent complaints about non-payment of school feeding caterers.”
In reaction to this, some Ghanaians praised the Speaker of Parliament for this innovative move. Others also shared their opinion that Alban Bagbin was just taking the move of pursuing his Presidential ambition.
My view: Is his presence at the place really important? What change will happen after his unannounced storming? If there is no positive answers to these questions, then this is not necessary.
