Fixthecountry Conveynor Oliver Barker-Vormawor has revealed that, tears begun to fill his eyes when he began to read a lawsuit filled by a young lady against the Ghana police service. According to him, the young lady accused the police for molesting her and even inciting males in prisons cells to rape her.
In a post shared on his official Facebook page on Monday, 20th June 2022, Oliver Barker wrote that he has just read a lawsuit recently filed by a young lady against the Ghana Police Service; that has left me distraught.
” My eyes started welling up when I was reading it”.Â
According to Oliver, the young lady (21 y/o) who was a footballer with the Ningo Ladies Football Club, and was called up to the Black Queens in 2019, was arrested by the Ghana Police Service. When they realized that she was intersex, they started slapping her. They then pulled her underwear down, and gawked at her genitals.
He narrated that after that, despite the protestation from the women in the female cell, a police officer pushed her into the male cells, and instructed the men in the cell to “rape her since she says she is woman, and that perhaps that would clear the doubts from her sick mind.”
“One of the male inmates started to sexually assault her and was trying to rape her, till two other inmates pulled him off her. She stayed in the male cell overnight before they pulled her out and put her in the female cell, the next day.” Oliver revealed.
He lamented that this is the current democracy of Ghana.
