The former MP for Tamale Central Constituency, Alhaji Inusah Fuseini, reacting to the expected increases in the prices of fuel this week, has said that he doesn’t know if Dr. Mahamud Bawumia, has lost his Twitter account because he used to tweet about increases in fuel prices, but he is quiet this time around.
Alhaji Inusah Fuseini Made this statement on “Good Morning Africa” on Pan Africa television today, 16th June 2022, when he lamented the plight Ghanaians will have to endure when the prices of fuel are increased this week.
According to Inusah Fuseini, when fuel prices were increased in this country in the past, Dr. Mahamud Bawumia tweeted that he sympathize with drivers because of the hardship that we going to endure, but No hardship then can be compared to the hardship that is being endured today.
“I don’t know whether Dr. Mahamud Bawumia has lost his Twitter account because this is the time that he should actually tweet and sympathize not only with drivers but with the banks, manufacturers, businessmen, and workers on the hardship that they have to endure because of the constant increases in fuel prices which is not cotaminous with salary and wages.”
Inusah Fuseini added that Dr. Mahamud Bawumia must apologize to Ghanaians because today, fuel prices are being increased every month and sometimes every week.
“What do you think the consequences will be on the ordinary worker who’s salary has not been increased. The purchasing parity of that worker will reduce, he will buy less goods, Are they not thinking? Is the government not thinking? Amidst all the mirage of problems that we are facing, this is the time the government thinks they can increase the prices of fuel.”
Inusah Fuseini concluded by saying that Dr. Mahamud Bawumia has said that he has locked up inflation and given the keys to the IGP and that the cedi will stabilize, he doesn’t know if he still stands by that or if the IGP has reported that the key is missing.
