The speaker of parliament has recently sparked massive stir, debates, and arguments across all social media platforms after he finally took the privilege to break silence over the alarming rate at which residents in the greater Accra region keep being affected by heavy rainfalls amidst continuous floods.
Speaking in parliament over the alarming issue, Alban Bagbin made it clear that, the situation is undoubtedly worrying and unacceptable hence, the needed measures have to be put in place in other to avoid further casualties in the future amongst other related effects.
”We those who are representatives of residents of Accra are completely worried about the rain and its effect on the lives of the people. The drainage situation, the works, and housing sector, our behavior as a people do that we see what kind of interventions as a house; we could put in place to support. It is very important; we can’t continue to have this year on floods; it is unacceptable”, Alban Bagbin emphatically stated.
In addition to this, the speaker of parliament, Alban Bagbin also took the opportunity to urge the incumbent government to intervene in the alarming rise of flood cases in the country’s capital, Accra.
