Kenya’s presidential hopeful Prof. George Wajackoyah of the Roots Party says snake farming and the legalization of marijuana production would be part of his economic strategy.
In a tweet on 9th June 2022, Wajackoyah stated;
“As Roots party, our manifesto is not only based on marijuana legalization and snake farming, this is just the tip of the iceberg. We will release our detailed manifesto on the 2nd of July like I said earlier together with my able deputy Justina Wamae. “
Prof. George says anti-venom from farmed poisonous snakes is worth a fortune and can drive Kenya’s economy alongside cannabis farming.
He also wants to sell snake meat to nations where the reptiles are a delicacy. The 61-year-old is one of four candidates that were given a go ahead to run for president in the August elections.
The plans of Wajackoyah has been greeted with warmth by several Kenyans and people are really eager to get hold of his manifesto come on the 2nd of July. A large portion of Kenyans seem to embrace the proposed change and with a country that recorded 3.3 million people consuming cannabis, it is definitely not an unexpected embrace and could this be the turning point Kenyans have awaited
