Ama K. Abebrese is a 42-year-old British-Ghanaian actress, television presenter, and producer. She was born in Ghana and raised in West London in the United Kingdom. Ama won the 2011 Best Actress in a Leading Role at the AMAA Awards for her stellar performance in Sinking Sands.
A few moments ago, Ama K. Abebrese posted on her Facebook page and we believe our readers would need this piece of information. She has informed Ghanaians that she is moderating a stakeholder engagement in Accra on abolishing medical examination fees for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault in Ghana. We believe that this is a step in the right direction considering the several reported cases of such abuses in the nation.
Interestingly, the award-winning actress is doing all of these with support from Plan International Ghana and we expect Ghanaians to support her to achieve her objective.
Stakeholders include representatives of the Ghana Medical Association, the Attorney General Department, the Coalition of Survivors of Domestic Violence and Domestic Violence, and the Victim Support Unit of the Ghana Police. She has also informed Ghanaians who have a question or comment, to contact her via her Facebook page.
