I Never Said I Regret Endorsing Nana Akufo Addo, There’s No Audio Evidence – Cwesi Oteng

Cwesi Oteng has said his recent connection where he allegedly expressed regret for endorsing Nana Akufo Addo and the New Patriotic Party has been taken out of context.

In any case, there’s no audio to back the wild circulation which he believes has been propagated on partisan lines. His interview which took place within the confines of Hitz FM, had him saying;

“Openly declaring my support for a political party came with some regrets. I thought Free SHS was something to commend, but it ended up being crap in people’s eyes.”

In what seems like a u-turn or a clarification of a sort, the urban gospel singer explained on Empire FM that his comment was misconstrued.

“My regret is that I live in a country where people want you to think like them. Because David is able to do it and Nigeria understands, Wizkid is able to do it, and Nigeria understands. I wished I come from a civilized community where people’s views are not being used as weapons,“ he said.

“All I am saying is that I still believe in Free SHS, but people don’t think that when you endorse something like this, they will clap for you. That’s what I am saying. It is crap in people’s eyes,” he said.

Continueig, Cwesi said;

“There is no audio that has me saying that I regret endorsing Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo,” he further noted.
Before and during the 2022 general elections, some celebrities and musicians in Ghana publicly declared their support for various political parties.
