Asante Kotoko’s Mbella Etouga silences Great Olympics in Accra.

Asante Kotoko put up another spirited performance this afternoon to defeat Accra Great Olympics by a lone goal. Having wrapped up the title already, Dr Prosper Ogum made a host of changes. Mbella Etouga retained his spot in the starting eleven with the golden boot race in mind. He is on the same number of goals as Yaw Annoh of Ashanti Gold. Olympics started the match with urgency taking the game to the porcupine warriors. They couldn’t make much of their incursions into the Kotoko half. The Kotoko defence remained resolute.

Kotoko made them pay in the second half with a sumptuous finish by Mbella Etouga, his 21st strike of the season. He collected a pass, made a swift turn and placed the ball beyond the reach of the Olympics goalkeeper. Kotoko had their goalkeeper Kwame Baah to thank after he made some amazing saves to ensure they ended the match with all the 3 points.
