The body of the coconut seller – 17 year old, Emmanuel Doli, who was struck to death by lightning yesterday at Ho has finally been taken from the scene, more than 24hrs after the incident.
The body was conveyed into a coffin by family members this afternoon, after some rites were performed by a spiritualist from Adaklu. The Spiritualist was consulted by the family and he came and did his rituals on the body.
The deceased is expected to be buried this evening at Sokode after further ritual have been performed as tradition required. Many have speculated that the incidence was as a result of a curse and that is the reason why the family and the security agencies did not want to touch the body.
We wish the entire family our condolences while we also want to advise the general public to be careful expecially in rainy season like this. Staying close to high tension poles can be very dangerous.
