Head of Linguistics at the University of Ghana, Professor Kofi Agyekum, popularly called ‘Opanyin Agyekum’ has described as ‘cowards’ people who hide behind anonymity and nicknames to denigrate others, especially on social media.
“Such people are cowards, empty and you don’t have to give them any attention otherwise you become like them . . . “ he told Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FM‘s morning show ‘Kokrokoo‘.
He said instead of making vile comments, “they should find out if what they’re saying conforms to the values and norms of the culture and the society? But if they don’t care then it means they’re not valuable to society; it’s the highest degree of impoliteness. When that happens, you’ll not be accepted into the society and the culture had it been the olden days”.
