“Do not wait!!”, the National Communications Authority (NCA) has warned persons yet to undertake the SIM card registration exercise ahead of the deadline in July this year.
The NCA has advised subscribers to register their SIM cards to stay connected.
On July 31, 2022, the NCA noted that all SIMs Data ones which haven’t been registered will be disconnected.
“Register your data SIM before July 31st July 2022 to avoid disconnection”, the NCA said in a notice to the public.
Eleven million two hundred and eight thousand five hundred and eighteen (11,208,518) subscribers have fully completed the SIM re-registration, the NCA announced.
The exercise was initially scheduled to end in March this year after it began in October 2021 but was extended to July 31 when the March deadline was due.
The registration exercise was met with a lot of challenges at the onset which led to the emergence of a group boycotting the exercise and calling for a more appropriate means of registration.
