There have been few instances where one mole in either the NDC or NPP side in parliament sides with the opposite side. Today, an incident happened in Parliament and this shocked members of the minority caucus. After the Chairman of the Finance Committee presented the motion for approval to borrow some loans from outside to fund and support COVID expenditures, all the minority members chanted their disapproval.
Shockingly, the Member of Parliament for the Adaklu Constituency, Kwame Governs Agbodza, stood and called on his colleagues to support the government and the majority so that they approve the loans. This was his reason.
“Mr. Speaker, I nearly died from COVID. I was saved by God and a good medical team. So whenever I hear COVID, for me it is not a joke. There was a thin line between me being here and me being six feet deep down. When I read the project intervention for which reason the government is going for the loan like increasing hospital capacity, I felt the need to back it.
“…As a former COVID patient, I encourage my colleagues that we reconsider our position on this loan and ensure that the wrong parts of this motion will be removed”, he explained.
The NDC side in Parliament roared in disapproval of what their colleague said.
