A statement from the Office of the Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng issued today indicated that “Mr. Sarfo Kantanka, the rejected MCE nominee in the New Juaben municipal assembly will be arraigned before the High Court in Kumasi on Wednesday 1 June 2022.”
Mr. Alexander Kwabena Sarfo Kantanka has been slapped with twenty-six (26) counts of corruption resulting from two public elections conducted in November for the confirmation of his nomination.
Mr. Kantanka is alleged to have bribed the assembly members in his constituency to confirm his nomination as the Municipal Chief Executive of the New Juaben Municipal Assembly.
He is also alleged to have been captured in a video hurling insults at the assembly members after they failed to confirm his nomination and he also asked them to bring back his money.
He is therefore to be arraigned before the high court of the criminal division in Kumasi on the 1st of June, 2022.
