The recent circulating news that has undoubtedly broken the hearts of most Ghanaians was when another top NDC member finally took the privilege to reveal another sad ordeal under the Akufo Addo government over poor healthcare under the NHIS initiative.
Speaking in a recent interview on the “Good Morning Ghana” show, the NDC’s Twum Boafo unexpectedly revealed that, he lost two cousins at the Korle Bu Teaching hospital as a result of poor healthcare conditions meanwhile, the Finance Minister travels outside to expensive hospitals for medical treatment whilst investing only 6% in the NHIS.
“I lost a cousin of mine in Korle Bu Teaching Hospital to circumstances that should never happen and yet it keeps happening. Last year, I lost another cousin of mine around the same time. The same thing keeps happening over and over again and the question that we need to ask ourselves is what is the correlation between monies that are not being paid to the NHIS fund to be subsequently disbursed to the service providers and the alarming spate of deaths that occur due to negligence, lack of proper medical, lack of proper medical types of equipment, incentivizing health workers, etc”, Twum Boafo emphatically revealed.
