Popular Investigative journalist Manasseh Azure Awuni has asserted he can never say Gabby Otchere-Darko is intolerant even though they hardly agree on any issues pertaining to governance and politics.
He said that journalist in Ghana are not asking to be loved but they are just asking to be tolerated.
In a post shared on his official Facebook page on Monday, 9th May 2022, Mannaseh wrote;
“On Newsfile, I cited Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko as an example. Since the NPP came into office, we hardly agree on anything pertaining to the governance and politics of Ghana. We disagree online and offline.
But I will never say he’s intolerant.Â
Tolerance doesn’t mean agreement. And no journalist worth their calling would expect their audience to agree with them all the time. Even our spouses and family members don’t agree with some of our works and opinions.
 Disagreement is normal. How you disagree is important.
You can disagree with someone and still respect their right to say what they say. That’s tolerance. You can disagree with someone without harming them or inciting violence against them.
We are not asking to be loved. We are only asking to be tolerated.
And that’s not too much to ask for.”
