Then, in the ninth minute, there was a scuffle involving players from both teams, and Luka Modric elbowed Eric Laporte to the point that he went to the ground, which should have resulted in a direct red card for Modric, but the referee elected to give both players yellow cards.
Manchester City was treated unfairly in favour of Real Madrid.
