Refrain From Referring To Bawumia By That Name Again – Okoe Boye Boldly Tells Former Freezones CEO

Okoe Boye, current Chief Executive Officer of the National Health Insurance Scheme and Kojo Boafo, the former CEO of the Ghana Free Zones Board under the erstwhile Mahama government clashed on Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana today. The duo alongside Randy Abbey discussed the state of the economy and the way forward.

Kojo Boafo noted that he doesn’t see how the NPP will win the 2014 elections considering how they have mismanaged the economy of the country. He laid the blame at the doorstep of Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, the head of the Economic Management team. According to Mr. Boafo, Bawumia is just like kyekyekule who entertains the people but doesn’t do anything concrete to change the living standard of Ghanaians.

Kojo Boafo used the word consistently till Okoe Boye pointed out that Kojo should refrain from those words. Okoe Boye said that though things are not at their best it doesn’t mean Bawumia is a kids’ entertainer who roams Ghana entertaining Ghanaians and doing nothing. Kojo refused to retract those words saying that was the best name to describe Bawumia.

Kyekyekule was a kids programme that aired in the 90s and focused on Uncle George, popularly called kyekyekule entertaining kids as they embarked on fact learning tours across the country.
