The multiple awards winning broadcast journalist who was the host of Ghana Beyeyie Midmorning Show Prophet Nana Yaw Sarfo in an exclusive interview on Holy Tv Shares his life story about how he became a broadcast journalist. According to Prophet Nana Yaw Sarfo a man named Michael Saints inspired him when he was hosting a show on Love Fm to start doing radio work, he called the journalist and informed him that he can do host his show, Michael Saints then invited him on his show.
He got an Opportunity at Tricky Fm but he was employed as a program manager which he has no experience to do it, he told them the truth that he is now learning the radio work. With the help of Chief Nana Kwa, he went through a three months training at Enchi but he was not given any payment. Prophet Nana Yaw Sarfo revealed that his mother was not in support of the radio work due to the lifestyle of some of the journalists but he was determined to do the work.
He was staying with a friend but he sometimes has to stay outside till midnight whenever his friend gets a visit, this situation made him moved to sleep at the front desk of Max Fm, he has to wake up at 4 am to get prepared for the day. He started with morning shows and hosted sports programmes, he went through lots challenges at that time because he was not getting any payments. The first money that was given to him was GHC20, he then left Enchi and came to Kumasi, he was employed at Spark FM in Dunkwa.
He worked with the radio station for two years. He then went to All Nations University at Koforidua to further his education. He got employed at Eastern Fm and he was paid every two weeks. After graduation from the University, he got another opportunity at Adehyie FM at Bibiani. He later came to Fox Fm for one month and went to Mercury Fm, he was the host of the morning show for two years and half years. He was awarded as the best morning show host of the year in 2012 and 2013.
He again moved to Fox Fm to work with them for sometime before travelling to Accra to work with Vision 1 FM. He sat down with his program managers to come out with a story that will attract lots of people’s attention and that was when they came up with his midmorning show Ghana Beyeyie show meaning Ghana will thrive.
Prophet Nana Yaw Sarfo said he prayed to God to give him a story to host on his programme to get a breakthrough with his work, although he went through challenges with his program but he was able to excel and he became a prophet after two years. He revealed that he was able win three awards in Accra. Prophet Nana Yaw Sarfo said he has gone through lots of challenges concerning his marital issues and his family but he was able to survive them all.
