A weekly tradition handled to individual players as a remembrance of a job well-done assessed by the FA officials in every league game, here are this week’s awardees for the king of the match in the Premier League.
Probably ended Manchester United’s hopes of playing in the Champions League – Arsenal star Bukayo Saka was named as the king of the match, he played ecstatically assisting and putting his name on the score sheet as well. From two goals down at Brighton & Hove Albion, the Captain of Southampton – James Ward-Prowse showed a great gesture of leadership, equalized with a low free-kick and a finish from distance leveling with the ‘Seagulls Albion’ from away.
In a goalless stalemate between Leicester City and Aston Villa on Saturday – Kasper Schmeichel was honored after denying Ollie Watkins on multiple attempts and fellow teammates. Brazilian duo Gabriel Fernando De Jesus and Joelinton Cassio Apolinario De Lira were also honored after bagging on a haul and a brace respectively with their teams – Manchester City and Newcastle United in separate encounters.
Andrew Robertson (Liverpool), Marcos Alonso (Chelsea), Nick Pope (Burnley), and Christian Romero (Tottenham) were also on the list of the honorees for their respective teams.
