Political science professor at the university of Ghana, Professor Gyampo has said that the certainty with which some of the senior members of the ruling New Patriotic Party predict outcomes of court process worrying.
In a Facebook post, professor Gyampo categorically stated that publicly predicting court outcomes will put fear in the public and compromise the people’s trust in the judiciary.
He said the act of predicting court outcomes feeds to the perception being held by many citizens that the judiciary has been compromised.
He advised the judiciary service, which is the third arm of government to protect itself from such political loose talks to restore it’s integrity.
“The certainty with which some senior members of the ruling party publicly predict outcomes of court processes, all feeds into the perception of compromised judicial independence. The judiciary must protect itself from such political loose-talkers” he wrote today on his Facebook page.
