The Deputy Finance Minister who also doubles as a member of Parliament for Ejisu Constituency, John Kumah has boldly sent a strong message to government workers who are on strike because of minimum wage and neutrality allowance.
While discussing labor agitations and neutrality allowance on News File on Joy News, Hon. John Kumah revealed that the government did lay off any government workers in 2020 and so workers should also relax and sacrifice for the government in these times.
The Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG) is currently on strike because of minimum wage and neutrality allowance.
” In 2020, at the peak of Covid-19, the government didn’t lay off any public workers even though there were producing close to 0% productivity. Today, the government is asking all public workers to sacrifice and bare with us. We’ve increased their salaries marginally in the past years but we are currently asking for some patience and sacrifice. We all have to sacrifice.” John Kumah revealed.
