Prof Gyampo-The Judiciary Must Protect Itself From Some Political Loose-talkers Of The NPP

A Political lecturer at the University of Ghana Professor Ransford Gyampo has asserted that, the Ghana judiciary must protect itself from some loose talkers of NPP senior members who predicts out of court cases with certainty.

In a post shared on his official Facebook page on Saturday, 23rd April 2022, he wrote;

“The certainty with which some senior members of the ruling party publicly predict outcomes of court processes, all feeds into the perception of compromised judicial independence. The judiciary must protect itself from such political loose-talkers”.

The comments of Prof Gyampo may come as a background to what the Majority Leader, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu said about the E-Levy case in court.

According to Osei Kyei Mensah, the case filed by NDC members seeking for suspension of the E-Levy is a dead end. He said that since President Akufo-Addo has officially signed the bill, it has become a law.

About a month ago, Gabby Otchere Darko also predicted that, there will be a by election in the Assin North whilst the case was still in court.
