A staffer at the Office of the Vice President, Krobea Kwabena Asante, has laughed at a serious move taken by the Minority caucus in reaction to the allegations Serwaa Broni leveled against the President. He reminded the minority caucus of how then Minority Leader, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, had also started a similar process to impeach the then President 2005, President John Agyekum Kuffour.
“Lest we forget in 2005, then Minority leader, Bagbin made a similar assertion. He said the NDC MPs are investigating the ‘hotel Kuffour saga’ to establish the involvement of the Presidency in its acquisition to begin an impeachment process against the President, John Agyekum Kuffour. As the antiquarians will put it, the rest was history”, he wrote on his Facebook wall.
Based on this recall, the Vice Presidential Staffer was just trying to predict that just as Alban Bagbin was not able to make any solid case and further impeach President Kuffour, the current minority under the able leadership of Haruna Iddrisu will not be able to impeach Nana Addo.
