Fixthecountry Conveynor Oliver Barker-Vormawor has asserted that, the president use of the national security to stage an armed robbery against Serwaa Broni, is a gravest breach of the constitution. He is therefore calling on the impeachment of Akufo-Addo as a president for Ghana.
In a post shared on his official Facebook page on Tuesday, April 19th, 2022 he wrote;
“As a Constitutional Lawyer; defence of our 1992 Constitution (until we get a new one) runs Supreme in my thinking of how we preserve the rule of law. It has always. Even when I have been that document’s loudest critic; my advocacy has drawn attention to its strengths and to how we can use it to arm democratic activism!Â
The President’s use of the National Security to stage an armed robbery to retrieve his naked pictures reflects the gravest breach of constitutional trust. If we allow this too to pass, we have effectively disarmed the hold of law and our constitution over those who rule us.Â
We must take a stand as to which society we want to live in! Let us not claim to love the Constitution only when it’s the low hanging fruits. May we not only speak out in its defence when we are seeking out the barest minimum. May we not cement our reputation as advocates of democracy only by posing as brave voices on little textual questions!Â
If we deem ourselves as advocates for Constitutionalism and Democracy, we must be aware that the most abuses of that democratic order comes from duty bearers; not facebookers.Â
Speak UP! “.
