The former Chief Executive Officer of the Forestry Commission, Mr Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, popularly known as Sir John died earlier in the year after battling a short illness.
Sir John’s death happened after he lost a sister of his and went to perform the one-week rites at his hometown, Sakora Wonoo near Kumawu in the Ashanti Region
Reports later indicated that the renowned lawyer cum politician reportedly tested positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and died of it at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital ICU.
He was 63-years-old [1957-2020].

Veteran actor Psalm Adjeteyfio popularly known as TT of Taxi driver fame died after suffering heart failure.
According to reports, he was diagnosed with end-stage heart failure recently which placed a limit on his lifespan.
The veteran actor begged Ghanaians publicly for help on several occasions. He received numerous help from various sources but invariably found ways to squander the money and come back for more.
Psalm Adjeteyfio first gained popularity in the 90s through movies and the television show Taxi Driver.
4. AB Crentsil’s Death

Legendary highlife musician Alfred Benjamin Crentsil, better known as AB Crentsil passed on to eternity on 13th July 2022 at the age of 79.
The sad news was first revealed by sound engineer Fred Kyei Mensah, also known as Fredyma, who posted on Facebook to confirm the passing of the renowned vocalist.
The celebrated musician was the composer and singer of hit songs like the controversial Moses, Atia, Juliana and Obi ba wiase.
5. Dr Cann (Radio Presenter)

6. Ghanaian Actor, Waakye Passes On

Veteran Kumawood actor, Prince Yawson, popularly known as Waakye, passed on aged 65 in the early hours of August 2, 2022 at the 37 Military Hospital after battling an illness for years.
Back in 2013, it was confirmed that Waakye was battling stroke after a photo of him on a hospital bed went viral.
However, he seemed to have recovered and found his purpose as an ordained Reverend minister in April 2021. He attended a Bible school in Accra for his new religious role after he officially bowed out of the movie industry.
7. Nana Nsiah Piesie (Highlife musician)

Nana Nsiah, who composed the popular “Police Abaa” hit song, died on Monday, April 4, 2022, after being involved in an accident in Pokuase, Accra.
The Nsiah Piesie broke onto the music scene as a part of the African Heroes Band led by Osei Kofi. He was a protege of Ghana’s late legendary musician, Nana Kwame Ampadu, after his secondary school education.
He later became a solo artiste and released popular hits such as ‘Police Abaa’, ‘Wo Gyae Me a Mennwe Aboɔ’, ‘Enyigyina Bekume’, and ‘Me Dɔ Wo’.
He was 57.
8. Baba Spirit Passes on

Francis Yaw Ofori, popularly known in showbiz circles as Baba Spirit joins the tall list of stars, reported dead on Thursday, September 8, 2022, at age 41.
The actor passed away while on admission at a hospital in the Ashanti Region after suffering from a brief illness.
9. Patrick Safo Drowns

He came into the limelight through ‘Official Prostitute’ which had the late Suzzy Williams as the lead actor.
He was also a character in Venus Films Productions’ Crime to Christ in which Majid Michelle was the lead actor, among several others.
10. Osei Tutu, a popular Kumawood actor also died this year
