Former Arsenal football club of England forward, Alexis Sanchez was incredible tonight for French Ligue 1 giant Olympique Marseille in their 16th league game of the season at home against Toulouse at the Stade Velodrome.
The 34 year old Chilean international retained his spot on his team’s starting XI line-up having been a key figure in the squad since his arrival in the last summer transfer window and he was able to play his part, and also contributed his quota in the convincing victory that moved them to third spot on the table.
Alexis Sanchez led the attacking line for the host in the whole 90 minutes duration of the game where he posed to be a big threat in the opposition box thereby created a couple of chances in the thrilling encounter.
Olympique Marseille in the first half took a double lead courtesy of a goal from Valentin Rongier and an own-goal from Rasmus Nicolaisen in the 13th and 41st minute respectively to make it two nil at half time.
The host in the second half were more dominating with their impressive style of play thereby got their lead extended with another two goals scored by Sead Kolasinac and Dimitri Payet in the 51st and 62nd minute respectively to make it four goals to nil.
In the 66th minute, the visitor got the deficit reduced as they scored a consolation courtesy of a goal from Van Den Boomen to make it four goals to one after which the host got back to their goal scoring spree, with Cengiz Under and Nuno Tavares getting on the score sheet in the 80th and 82nd minute respectively to end the game six goals to one at full time.
Alexis Sanchez with his great influx of influence in the game will be optimistic to maintain the tempo for his team in their next game as they continue their pursuit in the competition.
